what you fail to realize is that video games shouldn’t cater to females in the first place. It’s largely known that it’s targeted towards the MALE demographic and has been for so many years, so why would they ask for something like that to be handed to them on a goddamn silver platter?
that’s like a guy walking into the women’s department of clothing at a sears and demanding that there be more clothing for men there. Separation of sections be damned.
that’s not how it fucking works
no not really
the game industry is more like walking into a regular department store and seeing that all the clothes are only men’s clothes
and when you ask the cashier where the women’s clothing section is, they wheel out a small rack of cheaply made tutus, g-strings, and high heels all in bright pink
and then when you go “wow really that’s it” you get called an uppity bitch and everybody assumes you want all the focus on you when in reality you’d just like to be considered a worthwhile demographic since you also like to wear clothes, it’s not like you want some ridiculous getup, you just want a solid shirt and pair of pants that fits you alright.
I mean hell you even sort of like men’s clothes and you have no problem wearing them. They suit you well. But it’s very obvious once you throw on a pair of men’s pants that they were not made for you.
Perfect metaphor is perfect.
Comments of awesomeness…^^^
To be honest, I just finished this comic this morning because I have 2 alternate endings for this strip and I did not know which one I wanted to choose. The second ending was how we did lose the game because we lost both nodes, and the cat continued to press my key-bindings and get my character killed. The third ending was about how my evil sith cat actually works for the Imperial and he uses force lightening behind my back whenever he felt like causing trouble.
One of the three endings actually happened in real life. Which of the endings do you think was true?
What differentiates between between a regular cat and a gamer cat is that the gamer cat tries to help you play your games by pressing your keys while a regular cat may sit on your lap, your computer, or play with your computer wires. The gamer cat may help play with your mouse too, if…you’re a clicker.
Fennel used to watch me play my matches. He must have figured out how to play SWTOR because he would always wait until the match starts, then jump onto my lap to press my keys.
I just got my copies of our June Pathfinder products, and if you like fantasy art of badass ladies in reasonable armor, which I do, this is an excellent month. The art above is from Numeria: Land of Fallen Stars (I’ve linked below to the deviantart source for each image so you can check out these artists’ other work — the first image is by Carlos Villa, and the second two are by Jon Neimeister). Check out Lady Sophronia in Pathfinder #82: Secrets of the Sphinx and Tarrin Dars in The Emerald Spire for some more formidable female fighters. :-)

How about a not-witch mage female? How about transwoman characters?
We have plenty of non-witch spellcasting women. That comment strikes me as super-weird, tbh, because the witch class was designed long after we started doing adventures with the core classes, and had a ton of spellcasting characters (both male and female) before the witch was a thing (and have had a ton of non-witch spellcasters, both male and female, since). Of the 11 core classes, the iconics (representative examples) for 6 of them are female. And of the 6 spellcasting core classes (counting paladins and bards as spellcasters), 4 of the iconics (cleric, druid, paladin and sorcerer) are female. So, not really sure where the idea that our only female spellcasters are witches comes from.
Anyway, this is just three characters from one book that grabbed me, because of their armor, which spellcasters generally can’t wear.
We also have several transwomen featured in various adventures — most recently, Anevia Tirabade from Wrath of the Righteous. And featuring trans* characters isn’t something we intend to stop doing, so there should be more to come.
We have other trans characters as well. I can confirm that Sonnorae, the Varisian woman who standardized the modern Harrow deck and created the pocket dimension featured in my adventure “The Harrowing” was written as a trans woman and the “circumstance of birth” that prevented her from continuing her family line was her lack of a uterus. The city of Wati has a gender neutral crimelord. Pathfinder even has a minor god of being transgender: Arshea. And there are additional transgender characters in upcoming adventures.
Nothing to add except that I work with awesome people. <3
Paizo love <3
Some context: entering this season, no woman had completed a televised course in either Japanese or American Ninja Warriors. I’d also argue that ANW’s qualifying courses are harder than any Stage 1 course on either.
This woman is a fucking badass. First woman ever to advance!
I’m not crying you’re crying
If you don’t think this is awesome you need to get out of my face
I lovelovelove the commentators on this too, not a single word about how hot she looks doing this shit, just complete and utter delight at how well she is doing here.
she made it look so EASY. does she even break a sweat?
God damn, and she looked so chill the entire time.
This is incredible! <3
My work friend told me today how she had been playing Bioshock Infinite while her infant son was napping. Usually when he wakes up from his nap, he’s fairly mellow and can be left to play on his own while she finds a save point. But one day he was pretty fussy and would not be ignored and so she unlocked a Gamer Mom Achievement: gaming while nursing. I’ve never been so proud of this girl.
Thanks for the submit! Not sure why I couldn’t post it. =)
You are totally right, I do appreciate it. Super cute. Nursing while gaming. <3<3<3 Power Moms!
About Us What is Summer of Doom? Trust us - it’s nicer than it sounds.
So some friends of mine are doing this thing. It’s for a really good cause and you can learn some more stuff about it on the link but basically Child’s Play is a charity that gives toys and things to kids who are constantly in hospitals to make their lives a little better and my friends are going to stream a gameathon for the DOOM games so you should all donate and come watch because it’s gonna be really cool.
Please donate. Or just signal boost.
Last time, guys, I promise. He Who Runs This Stuff has informed me that I did not do a good enough job explaining this. Apparently I am to inform you that I am personally involved in this Endeavor, and copy the About Us section here. So I will start by saying that I will be a chat mod during the stream, so if you watch it, you can talk to me. Sometimes. I do need sleep occasionally.
Now for the About Us section:
Summer of Doom is an upcoming charity gaming marathon in support of the Child’s Play charity, which works to improve the lives of children in hospitals with toys and games. To help them raise money, our team will be playing through all three of the Doom games for as long as viewers like you keep donating. It’ll be a fun and entertaining show for those who love Doom or love videogames, and hopefully it will be a great event to help children in need!
Why not? Doom has always been one of our favorites (and an absolute obsession for Isaac, the guy behind all this). It’s also one of the most important videogames in history, popularizing first person shooters and pioneering 3D graphics, networked multiplayer, and community modifications. And with that upcoming sequel…reboot…thing, this seems as good a time to celebrate these classics as any.
This time it’s different, though. It’s not one lone marine fighting to save humanity. It’s all of us - the team, and you beautiful viewers who pledge your support.
About the Team:
Our crack squadron of UAC Marines is formed of lifelong gamers and students who were looking for ways to earn community service hours for high school. We thought this would be a fun way to combine our love for videogames (and the Doom series in particular) with helping a worthy cause.
I would also like to point out that if you donate $10, you can request stuff. We will do silly things for your amusement. I am personally willing to do silly things for your amusement if I’m ever playing.
Special Team Request
For ten dollars, someone on our team will do something silly at your request, similar to the Desert Bus for Hope marathon. We’ll sing songs! Do dances! Tell stories! Your request must be something within reason and we reserve the right to refuse any request made that is unreasonable.
Special Game Request
For fifteen dollars, you won’t just be controlling the team, you’ll be controlling the game. Force us to play with a silly constraint, like playing through a level using only the chainsaw. These requests are the most expensive because they’re often the most fun and because they have the greatest tendency to slow down the marathon.
So that’s a thing, if it makes it better. Now I’m gonna stop because I think this is getting a bit long.
Gaming Charity is always a win!! <3<3<3
GAMER GIRL MEME
In reality we are all a bit of each of the examples, but overall this is my favorite of the gamer girl memees. <3
